Daniel is a true citizen of the world. He spent most of his formative years moving from one country to the next, including Germany, Russia, India, Kenya, South Africa and the UK. That is why he speaks a handful of languages and can understand films without subtitles even at the most exotic festivals. Before he ended up in the film industry Daniel used to be a consultant and project manager for large IT and design companies. This experience is particularly helpful when it comes to effectively managing teams and preparing on-point, well structured, tailor-made concepts for any demand.
Since successfully graduating in filmmaking at the Met Film School in London, Daniel has been working as a freelance director out of London and Berlin. He’s a perfectionist who doesn’t mind a bit of hard work to achieve the perfect outcome. Daniel enjoys applying his precise, open, dynamic style to short format projects. His portfolio includes commercials, corporate videos, factual entertainment and music videos. In his long list of clients you can find names such as The Guardian Online, Black & Veatch or F/H Block Music Production.
From a creative perspective he also feels very much drawn to documentaries, such as his award winning short film “Nati” (2015) and his ongoing project “Aracà” (2013–2016) which he is currently producing in Italy. Throughout his career Daniel has been nominated for numerous accolades, including the “Audience Award” and “British Special Mention” at DepicT!, the “Diamond Award” at the California Film Awards as well as “Best Music Video” at the Newport International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Film Festival of Hollywood. Additionally, Daniel also enjoys his regular engagements to teach editing, directing and cinematography at various institutions.
